Rock the Light is teaming up with other major festivals in the nationwide Christian Festival Association to bring the “Rock the Light Talent Search presented by Essential Records” to Kansas City. The online talent search competition will conclude with a live competition at Rock the Light IX among the finalists chosen by online voters. Upon receipt of your entry and uploading of your band’s music, the online voting will begin!

Online voting will take place from when you submit until August 24. The 10 artists with the highest number of votes will advance to the final round.

The judging of the final round will be split between a second round of online voting, and the “finals” showcase and competition performance will be held “live” at the festival. Each finalist (band or track) will be given 10 minutes - enough time for two songs. This will be strictly enforced.

One artist will be chosen as the GRAND PRIZE WINNER and will be invited to move on to perform at the national Talent Search finals in Nashville later this year (date is not known at this time). The artist will be responsible for all cost associated with traveling to the finals in Nashville. The national winner will receive a development contract with Provident Label Group’s Essential Records.This could be the BIG BREAK you've been waiting for!

All talent search applications must be received by August 1, 2008
for consideration. Application fee is $50.
